First Contribution

That's right, we have our first contribution!

A simple, 400 x 300 animated gif logo, but a contribution nonetheless. No, I did not blackmail the artist who made it, nor did I bribe her with oodles and oodles of cash (that I wish I had). It was completely voluntary. The artist is the one and only, Kendra, and is rather talented in pixel art. You can view her creation in the following:

Thank you very much for your contribution, Kendra!

Official REX Website?

'Allo guys,

I've been thinking about REX Productions. Sure, I need to concentrate on getting it up and running, but what about its future? Obviously, if I wanted to create a bigger series and attract more people, I'd need my own domain. I've checked that, currently, the website domain "rexproductions.com" is not yet registered. But, I don't doubt that if I don't register it now, I'll end up with a cruddy name like "reproductions.com". I'm working on the basic HTML of the site, and I hope I can become experienced enough to actually create a website for REX. If not, there are always professional templates.

Wish me luck,

More Free Time!

Bonjour, abyssus, hello!

The majority of my schools end-of-semester testing has been completed, and only the math test remains to be completed tomorrow. That means there will be a whole month long break celebrating Chinese New Year, during which I'll have a lot of free time. Not only that but my dad is coming to visit me from the US, and might bring along a few things, like a hard drive adapter and software. I cant promise anything but that means I can get the unfinished REX Productions show for brownies edited and uploaded to YouTube. It might not be up to par with my current lighting and sound, but remember that was my first time using that camera!

I'll be sure to clean up the contents of my camera and use them for a few other videos in the meantime. I really hope you guys enjoy them!

Cant wait,

Choices, Choices, Choices...

G'day again blog readers!

Well, I've been reading into iMovie recently to see exactly what I was working with. Some people could be familiar with the fact that the new computer I bought was bundled with iLife '08, with iMovie '08 rather than the iMovie HD 6 I used to use. I found it a drastic downgrade in editing options, along with a new unusual interface. I also looked into the HD input/output, and found that there is no export option to Quicktime in True HD. If you attempt to do so, the video will be an upscale rather than the True HD the old iMovie HD 6 allowed. However, to my great fortune I found that iMovie 6 HD was released for free download for all users with iLife '08 installed, so now I have both. One for quick editing and the other for exporting in HD.

Also, for those familiar with Apple's updates, iLife '09 was recently released and packs a whole lot of new features along with those not previously available in iMovie '06. These include slow-mo, animated travel maps, new transitions/titles, and image stabilization. Of course, I'm not yet sure if iMovie '09 can export in True HD, but I certainly hope it can do so.

Thanks for listening,

REXProducer Account Now Active

G'day to those who read this blog...

Despite the rather gloomy greeting, this post, although a bit late, is filled with only good news. REX Productions is "back" so to speak, and we have begun uploading videos; albeit all lacking Russell's appearance. I'm using this as a sort of practice time for me to get back into video-making and working with my new software. As soon as I get back to America in the summer, I'll be sure to team up with Russell and perhaps a few of our friends to get some new videos out on YouTube. Until then, I hope my own videos can keep you content!

Thank you for reading and good wishes for REX Productions in the upcoming year,
Eric, REX Technical Producer
